We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Events Coordinator to support the Commercial Events team on a rapidly growing programme of events including the newest events to the calendar, Halloween at Kew and Joe Wicks Festival at Kew. Support will also be provided to other events in the programme including our largest event Christmas at Kew, Kew the Music, Outdoor Theatre, Summer Cycle, Nash Sessions concerts and several others.

The role

As a key member of the Commercial Events team at Kew, you will support the Commercial Events Manager in the planning, and operational management of Kew’s portfolio. The Commercial department at Kew has been set ambitious targets to grow self-generated income, of which commercial events forms an integral part.

  • You will act as the designated lead point person on specific events and projects - expected to take on ownership and management from development and conception, through to live delivery.
  • You will support in producing key event management documentation for delivered events, such as Event Management Plans, Staffing and Security Plans and Risk Assessments.
  • You will be expected to negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and pricing.
  • You should maintain consistently high-quality customer service throughout the events, ensuring that all customer service standards are met and exceeded.

About you

You should have varied experience of working outdoors, managing contractors, and helping to deliver large events. The role will include weekend and afterhours working at live events assisting in set up and delivery.

You will have outstanding communication skills and an enthusiasm for helping people. You will also need to have excellent IT and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in the events industry, who is enthusiastic, has bags of initiative and likes to get ‘stuck-in’, enjoys working in a team and has a great eye for detail.

This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.
