The Science Directorate of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is looking for an enthusiastic intern to undertake a 12-month undergraduate internship. You will receive training in key research skills from Kew’s leading experts and gain valuable practical and professional experience. You will also have access to Kew’s world-renowned collections of plants and fungi, its library and research facilities. Interns contribute to the research activities of a specific team, aligned with the Kew Science Strategy 2021-2025. About you

You will either be an undergraduate completing a sandwich year between your 2nd and 3rd year, or on an MSci completing a sandwich year between your 3rd and 4th year. You should be studying biosciences, chemistry or a subject related to this project.

You’ll be able to demonstrate an interest in biodiversity, its sustainable use and conservation. You’ll also have an operating knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet and/or database software together with experience of data collection and analysis and report writing.  Equally important will be evidence of your ability to work as part of a team. The salary will be £19,582 per annum (+ £725 book allowance).
