What you will do as Graduate Geotechnical / Civil Engineer

  • Complete geotechnical desk studies
  • Liaise with clients (internally and externally) to provide geotechnical support and advice.
  • Specify, procure, supervise and interpret ground investigations.
  • Undertake geotechnical analysis and design.
  • Review and check the work of others in accordance with the company’s QHSE System.
  • Commercial and technical management of projects within the office, ensuring projects show a profitable result and are completed to an agreed programme.
  • Develop and extend the technical abilities of the Geotechnical division.
  • Advise and publicise the work of the company through technical publications and papers.
  • Produce sketch drawings and details for CAD drafting by others, checking and reviewing of these prior to issue.
  • Carry out inspections and surveys.
  • Preparation of reports and presentations.
  • Provide engineering judgment and advice, contributing to preparation of study reports.
  • Carry out any duties which your line manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role

  • You will be a graduate having enthusiasm about working in the geotechnical field who possesses a Masters degree in Civil Engineering or in a similar field, although Bachelor Degrees will also be considered.
  • MSc or PhD in Soil Mechanics or a related field is desirable;
  • You will have a strong technical ability in analysis and design and a desire to develop this aspect in your career.
  • You will be prepared to travel within the UK and Overseas from time to time.
