What will you be doing this summer? How about getting paid to work on real projects on a scale you never thought possible before graduation? Join our Undergraduate Summer Placement Scheme and expect interesting, vital and hands-on work with experienced people you can learn from.

You could be meeting with our clients – the companies innovating and scaling to improve Scotland economically. You’ll work with colleagues from across our extensive network. Crucially, you’ll get world experience to complement your studies. By the time you go back to uni, you’ll have played an important role in helping us secure a prosperous future for Scotland.

We're Scottish Enterprise – Scotland's national and international economic development agency. We work to transform the Scottish economy. What we do really matters: from helping to create high-value jobs and boosting productivity to growing Scotland’s wealth. It’s success you could soon be part of.

The opportunity

Scottish Enterprise is on a mission – a grand challenge to transform Scotland’s energy transition and improve on how we showcase this internationally. By 2030, we aim to have helped create a globally competitive renewable energy industry in Scotland. We want to help double the number of Scotland’s energy transition companies, create 44,000 new jobs, and secure £1.5 billion in exports annually.

You’ll help us promote Scotland’s fantastic supply chain companies’ products, services and expertise to international buyers and energy transition project developers worldwide. You’ll develop concise and impactful pitch presentation documents and key marketing collateral to help companies we support stand out at events, as well as to in-market specialists around the world.

The role

As you’d imagine, you’ll work closely with companies to explore and extract key information. You’ll have access to databases that help you produce materials, but you’ll also follow up with companies if any gaps in detail threaten production deadlines.

Your focus will be on the offshore/onshore wind, hydrogen, marine and green heat sub-sectors. The single-page pitch documents you create as part of our Global Energy Transition trade team will go to be used at a variety of events, exhibitions and trade meetings.

Who we're looking for

You’ll have both the drive and the determination to work with minimal supervision to sometimes tight deadlines. Diplomacy is always key, so your natural ability to engage and impress people will come to the fore here – especially when managing relationships with senior-level customers.

You’ll be keen to get a deep understanding of our work with international companies across a wide variety of Energy Transition sub-sectors, and want to take ownership of a piece of work. Equally, you’ll be open to support and coaching, and ready to learn from the SDI trade specialists around you.
