SLR have a strong, well-established water team, distributed widely throughout our UK office network. The team has extensive experience working in sectors including the commercial and residential development, mining, waste, and energy sectors.

Due to our ongoing success, and a busy forward order book, we are looking to expand the team with the appointment of a Graduate Hydrologist, based out of our London office.

This position presents an outstanding opportunity to join a large team of flood management specialists and hydrologists and be part of a wider group which also comprises hydrogeologists, geomorphologists and geochemists.

The role

Working alongside experienced hydrologists, you will be required to prepare flood risk assessments, flood management strategies, and outline Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) designs for a range of projects principally in the built environment, minerals and power sectors. Duties will also include undertaking field-based work, preparing water chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Reports and Environmental Appraisals.

Being able to develop good client relationships and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders (both externally and internally) is an essential aspect of the role. This also brings an opportunity for the successful candidate to grow their profile and to contribute to increasing the pipeline of work in the region.

This role will involve projects and limited site investigations across the UK, and therefore may include infrequent periods working away from home for several days at a time.
