About the role

To help meet the challenges posed by a fast paced customer focused agenda, we are looking for a flexible and agile Junior Project Lead to be a collaborator within the SSCL Government Resourcing Change Team based at the Newport Centre of Excellence (CoE).

The Junior Project Lead will work within an established team of Senior, Project and fellow Junior Project Leads to deliver complex, medium/high risk, business critical projects for our diverse customer base, utilising a wide range of systems and techniques and often high profile in nature and under challenging timescales.

Key responsibilities

  • Documentation management and project governance activities
  • Risk management - Identify and manage risk and take ownership for reporting risks in a timely, open and appropriate manner
  • Analyse processes, identifying problems as well as solutions so that new business decisions can be made and change implemented
  • Working closely with internal and external partners
  • Testing new systems and processes
  • Monitoring assignments to ensure goals and milestones are being met in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures
  • Determine where a business encounters a problem and works to address the issue
  • To utilise and champion agreed project management methodologies and tools

Essential skills

You need to have

  • Understanding of business environments and commercial awareness
  • Business analysis skills that are solution independent and transferable to many business scenarios, for example Process Mapping and Requirements Gathering
  • Be adaptable to working with various requirement management tools and methodologies
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of modern techniques used in problem resolution
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

It would be great if you had

  • Experience working as a Junior Project Lead/Business Analyst on medium to large projects
  • Sound knowledge and experience of associated tools, techniques and methods within project delivery and/or change management
  • Resourcing Services background
