Splyt’s Widget SDK team is a talented and innovative engineering team that works on our industry leading SDK that allows our partner network to expand their services with ease and efficiency. We are now on the hunt for a curious junior developer to join our ranks in London. The role will report directly to one of our dedicated and intelligent Engineering Managers. 

The role

In your role as Junior Developer you will help us continuously develop and improve our partner integrations across our core verticals. You will get exposure to loads of different technologies and systems, the opportunity to work cross functionally and develop your own technical arsenal with the guidance of our experienced developers. This is a great opportunity for someone who has just graduated or completed a coding course and is hungry to learn. As part of our team, you will evangelise Splyt’s mission, culture, and values whilst being technically hands on in building the world’s leading lifestyle marketplace. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Build and maintain React frontend applications and contribute to our Node.js/Typescript APIs and microservices
  • Design, build and test new functionality for our mobility marketplace and supporting projects
  • Work collaboratively with QA, product and business development in order to ensure partner integrations are successful
  • Work with the core team with influence on design, architecture, development and business decisions
  • Become an integral part of our growing start-up by contributing on a technical and personal level

Who we are looking for

  • Excellent knowledge using React for front end development (although other Javascript frameworks will be considered)
  • Solid understanding of Node.js for back end development.
  • Very good understanding of state management
  • Knowledge of TypeScript is considered beneficial 
  • Experience working with and integrating REST APIs 
  • Firm understanding of object oriented programming as well as functional programming
  • Good knowledge of modern software design patterns/anti-patterns 
  • Current and continuous interest in new tools, technologies and methodologies
  • Experience in building scalable cloud based solutions desirable 
  • Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes considered a plus
  • Background in mobile development beneficial
