The Smart Buildings business makes some of the most iconic buildings come alive!
We design, install, monitor, maintain and optimise building control systems and are part of SSE’s Distributed Energy division developing solutions for smart places – cities, campuses and buildings.
Our business helps achieve optimised working environments leading to reductions in buildings’ energy consumption through the installation and maintenance of a variety of building control technologies, including Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), and the application of data analytics to provide building performance insights.
What is the role?
This is a unique opportunity to join our Smart Buildings business for a summer placement. We are looking for applicants who would like to gain experience by either working:_
- on a project on one of our operational systems (improving business process, system enhancement; data entry)
- on a strategic sales/marketing project (content development; CPD development; internal communications)
Depending on the project, you will work as part of a team and also individually to help enhance and improve processes, systems and content across our business.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills will be some of your key assets along with the ability to build, nurture and maintain strong relationships with clients and your team
- Excellent organisational skills and self-driven with the ability to manage your time well, you'll also have an adaptable and flexible working approach both individually or as part of a team
- Experience in our industry is not essential for this placement, but a keen interest in the Building Energy Management and Sustainability industry may help
