This year, we’ve introduced a new Underrepresented Talent Taster for neurodivergent people.

Over 15% of children have a diagnosed special educational need, with many more neurodivergent children remaining undiagnosed.

Yet the percentage of teachers identifying as neurodivergent is significantly below that of the general population. This means that children are lacking in both representation and lived understanding in their role models.

As well as providing true representation for the young people in our schools, we need neurodivergence in the teaching workforce to create a profession rich in a range of perspectives and creativity.

On our two-day Neurodiversity Representation Taster Programme, you'll:

  • Spend time learning transferable skills with our range of experts
  • Attend personal development and leadership skills sessions
  • Discover what it’s like to teach, including planning and delivering your own mini lesson
  • Receive personalised one-to-one feedback
  • Gain networking opportunities with our team, our partners and likeminded peers

All the above and, in the future, you'll be guaranteed a space at a selection day for our teacher training and leadership programme – one of the UK’s top graduate schemes as highlighted in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers list.

Give yourself a head start in planning your career, with our two-day Taster Programme.

This programme takes place in London on Monday 29 & Tuesday 30 July 2024. Travel, accommodation and subsistence costs are covered by Teach First, including travel to London for those based outside of the capital.

Apply now – we fill our Taster Programmes on a rolling basis, so strongly recommend early application.
