Job description

Are you enthusiastic about process and production engineering? Do you want to gain experience of working in an industrial setting? At PB Leiner we have exciting opportunities within our well established and friendly engineering teams, with vacancies for two Year In Industry Students.

One student will be working in within our production engineering department. The other within our process engineering department. The Year In Industry Students will work closely with multiple departments and get experience of our full process (raw material to finished product). There will be the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of different activities and the students will be active team members, making positive contributions.

The production YII student will be involved in

  • The analysis of hourly production data and downtime
  • Process monitoring and analysis
  • The implementation of small throughput improvements projects
  • Taking part in problem solving exercises
  • Interfacing with many different departments and job roles from operators to plant manager
  • Providing support to engineers and department heads
  • The Health and Safety of all our employees is of utmost importance and you will be expected to comply with all the requirements in place

The process YII student will be involved in

  • The gathering and analysis of process data
  • Assisting the production team to solve processing issues
  • The implementation of small process improvements projects
  • Aiding the implementation of larger process improvement projects
  • Taking part in problem solving exercises
  • Interfacing with many different departments and job roles from operators to plant manager
  • Providing support to engineers and department heads
  • The Health and Safety of all our employees is of utmost importance and you will be expected to comply with all the requirements in place

These roles are based in our Treforest plant.

Requirements

  • Be studying for a degree in Chemical Engineering or similar and achieving a 2:1 or higher
  • Have a high level of safety awareness
  • Be computer literate
  • Have strong interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be flexible
  • Be able to work well individually or as part of a team
