Opportunity

Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd (part of Textron Specialized Vehicles) are seeking a Logistics Intern to be based in Ipswich, Suffolk, reporting to the Logistics Manager. In Ipswich, at Ransomes Jacobsen, we design, manufacture, and distribute turf maintenance equipment under the brands of Ransomes and Jacobsen. The projects and tasks you will work on will be varied, allowing you to gain a broad understanding of the function.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Liaising with 3rd party freight companies for collection and shipment of goods domestically and internationally;
  • To ensure all documentation is accurate - collection notes, SSN, CMR and invoicing. Complete customs documentation as required;
  • Manage customer enquiries and be able to resolve logistic issues effectively and in a timely manner;
  • Liaise with the internal stakeholders, including production planning teams and Finance
  • Collate, analyse, and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI) relating to Logistics and Sales operations activities including, but not limited to, revenue & shipping targets, back-order reporting & analysis;
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks required by the Company.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications/skills/education

  • You should be enrolled on a Bachelor’s course in a Business Management / Economics / Finance / Supply Chain / Logistics or similar field that allows you to complete a year in industry;
  • Possess strong numeracy and literacy skills;
  • Be IT literate, particularly in Microsoft Excel;
  • Prior experience of business intelligence software is advantageous;
  • An interest in numbers and sales;
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and the ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent data entry and analysis skills;
  • Excellent telephone skills and manner.
