Discover impactful work

Join our R&D department and learn the operations of immunodiagnostic evolution. Support the development and improvement of products & processes and understand how we ensure they meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be looking for an industry placement position with curiosity in immunology and a keenness to learn techniques such as; chromatography, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, mass spectrometry and bioconjugation.

A day in the life

  • Follow standard operating procedures and perform scientific experiments.
  • Interpret data and write accurate scientific reports.
  • Collaborate with fellow R&D scientists to support investigations and discover resolutions to challenges within product development.
  • Understand the lifecycle process of immunodiagnostic assays from conceptualisation in the lab to the generation of kits.
  • Align with good laboratory practices and participate in lab management & maintenance.

Keys to success

Education

  • Placement Year: Bachelor of Science degree in Life Science or Biochemistry, however, alternatives will be considered with relevant knowledge and experience.

Experience

  • Practical laboratory experience in a relevant degree would be advantageous.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to conduct scientific investigations.
  • A good understanding of immunology and protein biochemistry.

Work environment

As this is a laboratory based role, candidates should be familiar with Health & Safety procedures when working in this type of environment. Training is provided for safe handling of hazardous substances.
