Position summary

This role is responsible for the performing routine laboratory procedures and pharmaceutical analysis in support for the QC Chemistry Team.

Responsibilities

  • To perform quality control analytical testing of incoming goods, intermediates and/or finished products under cGMP conditions.
  • To manage consumable, reagent and chemical reference standard stock control within the department.
  • To perform routine equipment checks of laboratory equipment (balances, pH meters etc)
  • To prepare, complete and archive technical documentation including but not limited to analytical write-ups, standard operating procedures, specifications, investigations and reports.
  • To perform planned preventative maintenance and performance calibrations on equipment. 
  • To perform washing of laboratory glassware
  • To coordinate laboratory waste disposal streams
  • To prepare laboratory bench reagents and solutions to be used in analysis
  • To maintain own training records and support and train other team members as required.
  • To participate in continuous improvement activities and look for further opportunities to progress the team/department.
  • To communicate effectively with others on site and internationally, and to participate with them in problem solving activities.
  • Ensure cGMP is applied in their area of work and comply with cGMP in all areas of the business.
  • To work with HSE, cGMP and 5S in mind at all times.
  • To carry out any other tasks which may be required from time to time.

Minimum requirements/qualifications

  • Working towards a degree in Chemistry or strongly related scientific discipline
  • Theoretical and practical experience of analytical techniques and laboratory equipment
  • Effective communication skills at all internal and external levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills
