The Role

Summer Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with the chance to work with our clients and teams to address key business problems and identify areas of growth for the company. The Global Trust Assurance (GTA) team is a core function of the Global Security Organization (GSO). The GTA team is responsible for providing the security & risk control requirements to be implemented by our engineering partners, as well as developing the corresponding controls validation testing, automation, and sign off for all areas of security technology across the company.

As a Security Solutions Intern, you will gain experience in stakeholder management along with being able to analyse a solution for its technical controls and data use and protection. You will gather insight into how we as a company use industry frameworks, as well as any internally developed policies. The outcome of this internship will help the Global Security organisation implement an industry accepted level of security within a solution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the project of completing a solution document for a chosen security technology
  • Own the project process and meet all the goals to completion
  • Document all requirements, use cases, and data involved in the use of the security solution
  • Communicate with all stakeholders involved in the progress of the project

Qualifications

  • Currently in your penultimate year pursuing a bachelor's degree or in your final year going on to study masters, graduating in 2023
  • Studying computer science, cybersecurity, information technology or a related technical discipline
  • Available from June for at least 12 weeks - Awareness of industry standard security frameworks
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
  • Motivated to contribute and grow within a complex area of emerging importance
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
