About the Role

This position will help develop the market leading product suite available to members of the Liquidnet platform. The role will help with data analysis and prioritization of projects and initiatives with the EMEA business. This role reports to the Head of Product in London and will have daily interaction with our sales and trading teams. The successful applicant will gain experience working across the European business of Liquidnet including supporting Buy Side (Asset Manager, Hedge Funds, etc.) trading flows, as well as algorithmic execution. They will also gain an understanding of the wider European trading space. They will also have the opportunity to interact with all departments (Legal, Compliance, Technology & Operations in the EMEA & US regions) to understand the full front-to- back life cycle of a trade.

 

Responsibilities

Product Management Tasks (50%)

  • Analyze external and internal requests to ensure accurate and detailed information is available to support our equity sales and trading business
  • Organize and help to prioritize workflows across groups and areas to ensure accuracy in deliver of product initiatives
  • Help to optimize workflows between teams internationally

Product/Data Analysis (30%)

  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Analyze usage of our products to discover gaps and improvements

Market Analysis (20%)

  • Help to pull together a picture of major announcements or initiatives in the market
  • Conduct detailed analysis of competitor offerings including collecting feedback from internal groups on these offerings

 

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Coursework / modules in business process or market analysis
  • Strong proficiency with both Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong desire to learn about financial markets and market microstructure
  • Strong research, writing and typing skills
  • Proactive and able to work independently, with excellent communication skills and rigorous attention to detail
  • Ability to think broader than just the question or problem being presented
  • Ability to cope well in a fast paced environment and under pressure  Ability to exercise discretion and judgment, and handle confidential information

Desirable

  • Experience in data analysis
  • Previous experience within an office environment

Person Profile

  • Motivated self-starter who takes ownership of their projects, with ability to take initiative and work autonomously
  • A team player who is confident working in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Genuine interest in learning about electronic brokerage and the front-to-back trade lifecycle
  • Must be in your penultimate year of university and available for the full 8 weeks starting in July 2022
