At Transport for Wales (TfW) we have big plans to transform the Welsh transport network. It’s our vision to connect communities, create jobs and make travel across Wales and the borders more accessible than ever. That’s where you come in.
About the role
As an Operations Management Graduate, you’ll work closely with teams within the Chief Operations Officer’s directorate. You’ll work with key business areas to learn how the railway operation is run, and manage different elements of the project lifecycle including schedules, finances, resources and risks. Not only will you gain key transferrable skills, but you’ll also take part in several rotations during the scheme. You could spend time with drivers and conductors, as well as stations, safety and planning teams.
Throughout this two-year course, you’ll work towards achieving a professional qualification. As part of your learning, you’ll take part in six practical development workshops and four webinar sessions. Plus, you’ll combine your academic and practical learning to deliver a personal project that contributes to TfW.
Who you are
You’ll be a confident communicator, as you’ll liaise with stakeholders and TfW partners. And, you’ll regularly engage with fellow graduates as you build your own internal network. You’ll do this while taking advantage of on-the-job training, further developing your technical competency.
To apply, you’ll need a degree or apprenticeship degree in any subject. Work or volunteering experience in a related field is desirable, as are Welsh language skills. If you’re fascinated by operations management and want to make a genuine impact at TfW, we’d love to hear from you.
