At Transport for Wales (TfW) we have big plans to transform the Welsh transport network. It’s our vision to connect communities, create jobs and make travel across Wales and the borders more accessible than ever. That’s where you come in.

    About the role

As a Software Development Graduate, you’ll work closely with teams within the IT and Digital Services directorate to assist with the development of multi-lingual sites and microsites across multiple domains, and produce efficient software solutions that support an uninterrupted user experience. Not only will you gain key transferrable skills, but you’ll also take part in several rotations during the scheme. You could spend time with digital development, finance system development, AI development or application/business process improvement teams.

Throughout this two-year course, you’ll work towards achieving a professional qualification. As part of your learning, you’ll take part in six practical development workshops and four webinar sessions. Plus, you’ll combine your academic and practical learning to deliver a personal project that contributes to TfW.

    Who you are

You’ll be a confident communicator, as you’ll liaise with stakeholders and TfW partners. And, you’ll regularly engage with fellow graduates as you build your own internal network. You’ll do this while taking advantage of on-the-job training, further developing your technical competency.

To apply, you’ll need a degree or apprenticeship degree in a relevant area, such as software development or software engineering. Work or volunteering experience in a related field is desirable, as are Welsh language skills. If you have a talent for software development and want to make a genuine impact at TfW, we’d love to hear from you.
