Where you will work

The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team on a broad spectrum of travel litigation.

We are looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our 14 lawyer Travel, Tourism and Insurance team in Exeter. The role will focus on providing a first class service to clients, contributing to proactive marketing/profile raising and exceptional client management.

The successful candidate will have a clear track forward and will be well supported at partner level and by other fee-earners and will be joining a highly collaborative and collegiate culture.

What you will be doing

  • Advising in relation to and representing clients in travel litigation matters, whether through litigation, arbitration or alternative dispute resolution, with minimal supervision. The work types shall include, but not limited to advice on both Claimant and Defendant matters, England and Wales jurisdictional claims, foreign jurisdictional claims, and advice on contractual matters concerning insurance policies. Much of the work will have an international focus.
  • Taking instructions from and attending clients including file opening and internal compliance procedures;
  • Progressing cases through the litigation process considering all appropriate methods of ADR
  • Ad hoc general research on matters;
  • Active participation in team marketing initiatives;
  • Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures and client service level agreements and,
  • Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions

What you will need

  • LLB/LPC graduate.
  • General litigation law knowledge essential.
  • Preferably with previous litigious experience as a paralegal
