Role overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in Financial Advice and Wealth Management. As part of this role, you will be working in collaboration with the Advisers, and other members of the team to provide technical information, research and administrative support for new and existing business.

We will support you through a structured programme to achieve the CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and will help you to develop your paraplanning skills, expertise and advanced technical knowledge in several key advisory areas.

This role offers the opportunity for great progression and development potential and would be suitable for a recent graduate looking for a career in Financial Services, particularly Independent Financial Advice, which is one of the fastest growing areas in this sector.

Job description

You will be responsible for assisting our financial advisers in delivery excellent service to our clients while working towards your qualifications to become an Independent Financial Adviser. While studying your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison with clients and service providers via telephone and email.
  • Providing an administration support function to the financial planning team in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Preparation and data gathering for client meeting meetings and financial planning reports.
  • Process new business applications, liaise with other teams in the set-up of new accounts.
  • Able to prioritise workload and identify when support is needed to achieve goals for a busy team.
  • Interest in developing knowledge of Financial Planning, the wider business offering and the Financial Services sector.
  • Completes all work according to procedures and standards. Collates and verifies the accuracy of information and work provided.
  • Process new business applications and liaise with other team members.
  • Supports business development through correct application of client processes and procedures.
  • Assists team members as required and works effectively with colleagues in own and other teams.
  • Confident communicator in both verbal and written form to liaise with clients and third-party providers.
  • Understands and complies with all FCA regulations and principals applying to the role.
  • Adhere to conduct risk standards and comply with regulations and principles applying to the role and our policies and procedures.

As you develop your knowledge and progress through the qualifications your role and responsibility will grow until you become a Financial Adviser and develop your own client base.

This role would suit an individual who serious about their progression through to Adviser. Beginning as a trainee financial planner, learning the ropes with administration, having full study support to achieve the CII Diploma in Financial Planning and progressing through to becoming a Financial Adviser.

Working arrangements

The working week: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) to be worked from 09:00-17:30 with flexibility of hours to meet specific work demands.

Location: Your principle work based is our Nottingham Office.

Person specification

Academic Requirements

  • 2.1 degree
  • Minimum A-levels, B,B,C grades (or equivalent and excluding general studies);
  • Grade B or above in GSCE Maths and English Language (GSCE or equivalent).
