The A side: A day in the life

The eCommerce intern is providing general support and assisting the eCommerce department with the day to day management of all of UMG’s ecommerce operations. The Intern role is varied and will require a candidate with strong organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and who can follow best practices and react positively to short-notice requests.

The B side: Skills and Experience

Be Operational and Administrative

  • Supporting our store managers with product uploads, creating new products, making pricing changes and merchandising of artist store fronts.
  • Responsible for updating products across Universal Music e-Commerce websites ensuring all product data (product/price/images/weight/dimensions) are accurate and stores home and product pages are set up correctly.

Responsible for product data integrity in all e-Commerce systems, to ensure:

  • New release products are published on websites in a timely manner
  • All product offer issues are dealt with efficiently
  • Accurate reporting
  • Support the Label Account Managers and Label stakeholders to ensure that new stores and products are delivered in line with artist/management requirements.Supporting store managers with artist specific promotions when required.
  • Drive sales through an understanding of the needs of the business and prioritise workload accordingly e.g. Seasonality changes, price changes and urgent product management
  • Sales reporting for labels, store managers, international labels and senior management when required.
  • Communicate product information to the customer service support functions when appropriate.
  • Ad hoc supporting of the eComm Director on preparing data and presentations.

Person specification

Necessary

  • Proven experience of working under pressure in a calm, efficient and organised manner
  • Excellent track record of working to strict deadlines and maintaining a high standard of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proven computer literacy with a logical approach to system usage
  • Experience of working with product CMS and back office systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply developed skills quickly and effectively
  • Genuine interest in the music industry and interest in eCommerce

Desirable

  • Previous experience in e-Commerce
  • Music industry or retail/head office experience
  • Use of basic HTML and Photoshop.
  • Use of Powerpoint and keynote.
  • Commercial Acumen
  • Google Analytics experience
