We are hiring a Communications Intern to work in our communications team at Edinburgh Global.

The opportunity

The role will support a specific communications project within Edinburgh Global: Education Beyond Borders (EBB). EBB delivers a programme of funding and support to ensure continued access to education for staff and students who have been displaced due to conflict, persecution or other serious human rights violations. The Intern will focus on the creation of assets and posts for digital publication during Refugee Week.

Your skills and attributes for success

The successful candidate will work to:

  • Create new stories, website content, image and video assets for social media
  • Receive information from the University archives which can be converted into content
  • Prepare social media posts for publishing (i.e. produce, proof, and schedule content)
  • Undertake other appropriate duties in relation to other Communications projects as directed by line manager.
  • Prioritise own workload using project management software with support from colleagues in the team.
  • Liaise with Edinburgh Global staff; share and receive project information.
  • Develop skills and undertake training as needed for the role.
