We have an exciting opportunity in the Department of Automatic Control & Systems Engineering for a Research Assistant with a passion for sport looking to use their skills in Artificial Intelligence to improve smart training systems. Your standing and approaches will further strengthen our strong international research profile and our reputation for novel, research-led teaching. You will work in the well-connected Medical Robotics team led by Dr Lin Cao with world-leading reputations in ACSE. We are well known internationally for our research, and are one of the largest research groups in the field in the UK.

You will have a unique opportunity to triangulate your skills in AI and computing with commercialisation of critical sports technology. You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, as well as strong programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, TensorFlow. As this role involves supporting the project’s commercialisation strategy, you will also need excellent problem-solving skills and fantastic communication skills.
