The full-time fixed term post is available until 31st March 2025. You will undertake research on TITAN Extension Project to assist the Principal Investigator and project partners in the successful execution of the project.

The Platform Driving The Ultimate Connectivity (TITAN) project aims to establish a platform for research collaboration and engagement across academic, industrial and governmental partners and conduct unique and transformative research on the interfaces of classic communication network elements to achieve the seamless, open and fully integrated network of networks.

The aim of the work at Warwick is to develop quantum-inspired signal processing algorithms and hybrid quantum-classical algorithms to address challenging optimization problems in 6G communications systems to achieve performance beyond classical algorithms.

You will undertake independent and collaborative research and will be expected to write up your research for publication.

You will be expected to deal with any management/administration problems that may arise from the project and produce and present regular project reports ensuring that the project objectives and deadlines are met.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.

About you

You will have a First-Class UG degree or Masters degree with distinction (For Research Fellow: PhD degree in a relevant discipline) e.g., wireless communications, computer science, quantum computing).

You will be expected to have sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within own area as well as strong research potential with the ability or potential to publish high quality work in relevant fields.

You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management and IT skills. The ability to code in Matlab/Python is necessary.

The level of appointment will be determined by the panel based on skills and experience.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.
