Colne Vets for Pets is looking for a graduate vet to join their team on our award-winning graduate scheme. Based in Colne, East Lancashire, a town in rural surroundings, but with great links by train, bus and motorway to the bustle of Manchester, Blackburn, and Preston.
Recently refurbished, we have expanded to 5 consultation rooms, an induction suite, separate laboratory, a quiet waiting area, and a relaxing colleague wellbeing room, to enhance our pet, client, and colleague days and stays.
Job description
With a massively varied workload with insured and non-insured clients, you will get a broad experience of veterinary practice, with exposure to all aspects of medical and surgical general practice veterinary work.
Supported by 3 other vets, 4 experienced RVNs, 3 VCA's and 5 other non-clinical team members, we will help you to build a logical, practical, flexible and satisfying approach to your work.
This is a full time 40 hours /week to include 1 saturday in 3, with a fixed day off each week. No OOH after 7pm weekdays, and no Sunday work. Sick pet appointments at 30 mins, boosters at 20 mins, catch-up slots and dedicated admin time rota'd in every day.
You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated Vet GDP Advisor, and also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD programme. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.
