Thurrock Vets for Pets is looking for a new or recently graduated vet to join their team and our award-winning graduate scheme.
Thurrock is a small vibrant town located just couple of miles off M25 and Central London is easily commutable. Close to Southend beach and easy access to London Stansted airport to travel to Europe.
About the role
Team made up of Three vets - one senior vet is a GP Cert in Small Animal Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging as well. She is an experienced soft tissue surgeon and currently getting further experience in orthopaedic surgeries. We have another experienced surgeon starting soon in October with good soft tissue surgical skills. Another vet is a medicine baised vet. We are team of 3 RVNs, One Student and One VCA. We have one Business Manager and team of 4 front desk client care advisors. We are fully equipped for inhouse radiography, an advanced ultrasound machine, a new endoscopy unit which can help us perform upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies, in house Idexx blood machines. We are a busy small animal clinic with about 60-40% ratio of dogs v/s cats. We also see rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. We refer our cases to a dedicated OOH service provider so there is a good work life balance.

You’ll be supported from day one by a dedicated mentor/Vet GDP Advisor, you’ll also be able to take paid leave to attend the varied CPD programme designed by vets specifically for new graduates. As you build your confidence in caring for pets and their owners, you’ll grow your own client base and see the continuity of cases with the support of your wider team. You won’t be in sole charge of cases until you’re ready.
The working rota is 41hrs/week. Vets work 4 days a week with a set day off every week. Weekend rota will be 1:3 or 1:4 and Bank holidays will be shared equally between the vets.
