Are you an enthusiastic Vet looking for your next clinical challenge?

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Sheffield Wadsley Bridge Vets for Pets.

About us

Our Partner, Laura Pike, a 2008 University of Edinburgh graduate, leads a fun and energetic team, with a great passion for patient care and wellbeing. We have a great relationship with the Pets at Home colleagues, working better together to enhance our working day. We also enjoy excellent support from our nursing team, with colleagues working towards anaesthesia certificates.

The practice is located in the city and metropolitan borough of South Yorkshire and with great transport links we are within easy reach of several International airports, as well as the Peak District for outdoor pursuits! You will work in a bright, air-conditioned surgery that is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including dedicated operating theatre, digital X-ray/in-house laboratory/ultrasound and dentistry facilities.

About you

This role will expose you to a variety of cases and give you the chance to demonstrate a keen interest in medicine. There are brilliant development opportunities available to the right candidate, including the potential to complete a certificate. Clinical freedom is encouraged, and time is available to work up more complex cases. Any ideas you bring to help develop and promote the clinic will be greatly received and acted on where able.

You will be confident in routine surgery with the excellent consultation skills necessary to build lasting client relationships. If you have a specialism that is even better. Sole charge will be required.

Maintaining our colleagues wellbeing and balance is an important part of our ethos. We are very keen and focused on our colleagues wellbeing and work-life balance, we like to make sure all of our staff are happy and looked after both in and out of practice. We are now only open on Saturdays for this exact reason, so you would only be required to cover Saturday opening with the need to work on a 1 in 3 Saturday rota.

We are flexible to consider candidates hoping to work between 30 – 40 hours per week. We work closely with our Graduate Development department and offer the Graduate Development Scheme through Vets for Pets, so if you are newly qualified or are wanting to build further on experience you have recently gained, we would love to hear from you and discuss this further!
