Welcome to the IT Support arm of Vintage Cash Cow’s Technology & Data Team. IT Support is a crucial component in ensuring the seamless operation of our technology infrastructure. We play a pivotal role in maintaining and implementing new technologies that power Vintage Cash Cow’s day-to-day operations and contribute to the overall growth of the business.

About the role

As an IT Support Technician at Vintage Cash Cow, your primary objective is to provide effective and efficient support, administration and monitoring of the IT network, encompassing both hardware and software resources. This role will report to the Head of IT and collaborate with various teams across the business, taking ownership of the technology solutions used and managing relationships with third-party vendors.

In your first three months you will

  • Work with the Head of IT to learn and develop an understanding of the VCC IT network and infrastructure
  • Become the first line of support, triaging requests, issues, and incidents, and escalating when necessary.
  • Administer the Vintage Cash Cow domain, implementing and supporting directory services, access control, and VCC information and resources management.
  • Assist in the delivery of several major IT projects.
  • Contribute to ongoing documentation, asset management, and inventory management.
  • Efficiently communicate internally and externally, liaising with resolver groups as required.

In your first six months you will

  • Take on additional responsibilities, contributing to the efficient management, triage, and ownership of incidents in the ITSM platform.
  • Provide support for VCC hardware, including the onboarding of new starters and offboarding of IT users.
  • Offer guidance, assistance, and advice to staff, promoting IT best practices and security awareness.
  • Assist with the management of IT GDPR adoption and adherence.
  • Contribute to the delivery of technical projects and the installation, configuration, and support of relevant software and hardware.
  • Maintain accurate asset registries and IT documentation,

In your first year you will

  • Continue to take on a more central role in the delivery of major IT projects, showcasing your ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
  • Expand your involvement in IT governance, compliance, and security, demonstrating a best practice approach.
  • Actively contribute to the enhancement of IT processes and workflows, proposing improvements and staying on top of industry trends and updated regulations.
  • Mentor other team members and provide guidance on ITIL practices

Key responsibilities

  • Management, triage and ownership of 1st line incidents in the ITSM platform
  • Support of VCC hardware
  • Assisting the development team with software bug fixes, troubleshooting and testing
  • Onboarding of new starters, setup necessary accounts and provision of required hardware
  • Offboarding of IT users including equipment return and account termination
  • Provide guidance, assistance and advice to staff utilising VCC IT where required
  • Provide support and assist with delivery of technical projects
  • Installation, configuration and support of relevant software/hardware
  • Promote and educate IT best practises and security awareness
  • Maintain asset registries and IT documentation
  • Assist with the management of IT GDPR adoption and adherence

Essential skills and experience

  • A strong aptitude for IT
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • An understanding of Windows and Apple operating systems
  • A best practice approach to IT security
  • Ability to contribute strongly within a team as well as within your own initiative
