This is an entry level role into innovation in a professional services environment. The role is to allow you to learn the basics and gain experience in innovation. You will assist the Department with the delivery and implementation of product and innovation initiatives across the firm and to clients.

What would a week look like?

There is no ‘usual’ week in our world, but the types of things you would be doing in this role include:

  • Shadowing members of the Department to see all stages of the product and innovation cycle (scoping / development / launch / maintenance) which may include:
  • Engaging with stakeholders by attending workshops and innovation sessions
  • Helping to research ideas and generally reading round and exploring new subjects
  • Being a point of contact for innovation and product queries
  • Understanding product and innovation processes by being involved in scoping, defining, running and reporting back on proof of concepts and innovation projects.
  • Getting to grips with the technology we have and completing self study qualifications
  • Attending conferences and webinars and sharing what you have learnt
  • Studying for a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification

What does this role lead to?

On successful completion of a Lean Six Sigma Green belt, qualifications in our existing technology and probation, colleagues in this role are then eligible for promotion (subject to business need) to the role of ‘Legal Engineer’ where they will get the opportunity to put into practice their knowledge with responsibility for discrete tasks.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be required to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role.

About you

Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a similar role and in a similar environment.

As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have the following:

  • An awareness and understanding of developments in technology. You don’t need to be able to code, but you do need to be interested in how technology could assist with the delivery of legal services.
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills.
  • There is no time recording in this role so you will need to be comfortable planning your work out.
  • You will need to be comfortable liaising with colleagues to help with prioritisation of your tasks.
  • Good communicator - this includes written and verbal communication. The ability to listen well is also important.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Ok with failure. There will be things we try that don’t work. We need to understand why and move on.

If you meet our criteria and think this is a job where you could bring enthusiasm and commitment, then we look forward to receiving your application.
