    We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Engineer to join the Sewer Rehabilitation team. The team delivers capital schemes across the Wessex Water region, working together to deliver the best solutions for our customers and the environment. We have won numerous awards in Innovation and Sustainability and have a track record of solution delivery.

    What can I expect?

    As a Trainee Engineer you will be involved in the delivery of planned sewer rehabilitation projects from outline design, through construction and completion to quality, time and cost objectives. You will participate in financial reporting, public relations, contractor management and third-party negotiations. You will work with colleagues from our environmental, legal and estates, and street works teams to deliver each scheme.

    You will be guided by our Project Engineers and Sewer Rehabilitation Project Managers in solution choice and through the project delivery process. At the same time, we will support you in a culture of learning and personal development, giving you the best possible chance to develop your career.

    What do I need?

    To be a great fit for this role, we’re looking for someone with a positive can-do attitude who has a great work ethic and is outcome focused.

    You will be well organised, proactive and a confident communicator both verbally and in writing. It is essential you have a safety-first approach and good organisation skills.

    In addition, we are looking for

    • Competence with Microsoft Office software packages and familiarity with GIS mapping software (or willingness to learn).
    • Valid UK driving licence.
    • Willingness to travel across the Wessex Water region in the management of projects and schemes.

    If you have the following, it would be an advantage but not essential

    • Construction and/or water industry background.
