The Team
The Climate and Resilience Hub (CRH) at WTW are looking for a talented and motivated intern to join the growing team in Leeds. Drawing on our global expertise and powered by Climate Quantified™, we provide analytics, advisory and implementation services to help our clients identify, measure and respond to climate-related risks and opportunities. In doing so, we help build the resilience of the real economy to physical climate change and encourage the transition to net zero. As an intern, you will start to build your career whilst helping us continue to shape the climate change adaptation agenda worldwide, working with a range of projects and clients globally.
The Internship
The intern will be embedded within the CRH’s corporates team – helping clients consider potential climate change impacts (both transition towards net zero, as well as physical effects) to inform management and strategic decisions. The internship will be structured around conducting a core project(s) aligned to your team’s current work as well as contributing and learning from the wider CRH. For example, during month 1 you would participate in regular team & all CRH meetings and activities, have regular supervision meeting with a mentor(s) and scope a project(s) aligned with your team and personal interest/skills. Project areas could include:
- Research climate risk profiles of companies operating in different sectors – for example, agricultural, food and beverage, extractives and manufacturing sectors.
- Appraisal of risk control/ adaption options, including Nature Based Solutions (NBS)).
- Sourcing, cleaning, and analysing multi-source datasets for climate risk and resilience projects
- Supporting client workshop preparation and delivery
- Assisting with proposal writing and business development
- Helping to create maps, presentations, analysis, and reports

The Requirements
- Currently studying or recently completed a course relevant to climate change resilience.
- An insightful, independent, analytical mind, with a passion for climate-related issues and its socioeconomic impacts
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel)
- GIS and/or programming languages (e.g. using ArcGIS or QGIS) with experience of analysing weather, climate, or hydrological data (desirable)
- Self-starter, ability to juggle multiple complex tasks at the same time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professionalism, enthusiasm for working as part of a team, and ability to interact with a diverse group of people.
