    As an intern in our Work & Reward line of business, you will have the opportunity to work across our Work & Reward teams.

    • Our Executive Compensation and Board Advisory consultants work with boards of directors, compensation committees and management to get all elements of executive level pay right.
    • Our Work & Reward consultants provide strategy, design and delivery support to help our clients reward their people appropriately and fairly, enabling organisations to attract, retain, motivate, and engage employees efficiently and cost-effectively.

    The role

    Our 8-week Intern Programme is designed for penultimate year students.

    An Internship at WTW will give you valuable real-world experience while you are still a student. It will enable you to apply your education in an environment that is both intellectually challenging and rewarding. At the end of your time with us, you will have a greater understanding of what we do and how closely our career offerings match your career ambitions.

    You will be treated in the same way as our new graduates, receiving the same quality and quantity of work. It is the perfect opportunity to understand what you could expect if you joined our graduate programme the following year.

    You will work as part of a team on a wide variety of complex projects. You will serve as a key resource for the consultant in charge of each of your engagements by performing many intricate aspects of the client work. As you grow and gain more expertise, you will become a key contact for the client. You will work alongside some of the industry’s top consultants on cross-industry client projects, including many household names: FTSE 100 and 250 clients, privately-held companies and public service organisations.

    You will have immediate exposure to real client assignments which will draw on your imagination and creativity, as well as your ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and present results. These experiences will help build your technical knowledge and overall industry expertise while you benefit from more structured learning interventions.

    Qualifications and training

    We have a focused 12-month training programme for graduates joining Work & Rewards, which is called FAST START.

    FAST START is designed to give our graduates an insight into our business, and help them develop the consulting, practical and technical skills they need to succeed at WTW. While you are on your internship, you will be invited to attend any relevant sessions.

    We continue to invest in our people, and you will have regular opportunities for training throughout your career with us – both on the job and through more formal classroom sessions. Consultants are not required to have a particular qualification; therefore the wide variety of external qualifications we do support are determined by the needs of the business and the individual’s interests.

    • Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent qualifications expected
    • Penultimate year students

    • Stage 1: Online application, including CV.
    • Stage 2: Invitation to complete online assessment and a video interview.
    • Stage 3: Virtual assessment centre – this is an opportunity for you to meet with members of the team and for the team to understand your strengths, preferences, and motivations.  The assessment will take place virtually, and there will be an opportunity for you to ask questions.
    • Stage 4: Offer and on-boarding

    The UK Intern Programme will be 8 weeks starting in July through to August 2025.
