Wood are looking to bring a Commercial Summer Placement into the business who will be provided with an in depth, meaningful experience within a busy Commercial team.

Responsibilities

The role of summer placement will give an insight into the opportunity available as a commercial graduate within Wood. Typical roles will include awareness and engagement under supervision:

  • Pre-award awareness - including support to the tender governance process, and proposals team in terms of performing a commercial review of tender documents, reviewing commercial proposals prior to submission for internal approval, preparing commercial qualifications and pricing notes
  • Main contract administration awareness, including correspondence management, management of change and the development/implementation of commercial strategies and profit improvement plans in accordance with client contract(s) and Wood’s policies and procedures
  • Engagement and support to ongoing initiatives and projects within the EMEA Commercial function – DSO, Cash collection and Margin Protection are a couple of examples
  • Undertake a specific project to Co-ordinate and benchmark KPI usage across the BG and our associated achievement

Qualifications

  • Higher level education
  • Working towards degree in Business or QS

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Level of understanding around commercial / finance areas of business
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
