We have opportunities for Graduate Process Engineers to join us in our UK Teams. We are currently recruiting for the following locations: Aberdeen and Glasgow.

The role

The Graduate Process Engineer will work as part of multidiscipline team on a project, contributing to ensuring the quality and timely delivery of Process deliverables.

As a graduate under the supervision and mentorship within our team, you will assist in the delivery of engineering services to Worley and our customers. You will perform a variety of assignments through the application of basic engineering theories, techniques, and practices. You will be trained in the utilization of relevant regulations, codes, standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables while gaining exposure to procedures and processes.

As a Graduate Process engineer you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects, for example:

  • Conceptual, Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) and Detailed Design projects in the New Energy, Conventional Energy, Chemicals, Fuels and Resources sectors
  • Debottlenecking, Expansion and Performance Improvements projects
  • Projects to bring top tier COMAH operating sites into compliance with current environmental legislation
  • Design of plants using cutting edge technology bringing solutions to the problems the world faces today

You’ll be

  • Involved in all stages of projects from, Conceptual, Front End, Detailed design through to Construction.
  • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
  • Identifying risks in the workplace, site and design work being undertaken
  • Compiling, checking reports, datasheets, calculations simulations and drawings
  • Considering the environmental, commercial, sustainability, safety and operational aspects of design.
  • Using software packages for Mass & Energy Balances, Equipment sizing, Environmental releases and safety cases;
  • Managing change, as the client may change his or her mind about the design, and identifying, formalising and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project;
  • Communicating and liaising with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors and clients
  • Contributing to the management of budgets, schedule and quality of projects
  • Presentation of work in both formal and informal settings to colleagues, clients and third parties

You’ll have

  • You will be in your final year of study of a bachelor’s or master’s level degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) or have graduated within the past 3 years
  • You will be looking to achieve registration as a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the future
