September 2024 or sooner

We are looking for a dynamic Teacher of History or Geography to join our close-knit and successful team. Our Humanities department consists of subject specialists in Geography, RE, History, and Psychology. Geography and History are taught up to KS4 and hugely popular among students.

At Maltings Academy our Humanities department is well resourced, with each teacher receiving their own Chromebook. Two trolleys of Chromebooks are available for student use across six classrooms. Every classroom has a ViewSonic interactive whiteboard which helps to bring learning alive. We use Google Classroom to support teaching and learning. We encourage our teachers to engage students in a variety of extracurricular activities, creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment. We are thrilled to announce that we are reshaping our trips and visits programme, aiming to enhance the educational experiences of our students.

We are committed to supporting our staff's growth and development. We offer various development, training, mentoring and career progression pathways along with access to AET subject network groups to empower our staff and provide them with access to best practice, ideas, and resources across the trust.

Maltings is a 11-16 academy based in Witham, Essex. Situated between the cities of Chelmsford and Colchester, the academy has 900 students on roll and benefits from a purpose-built building that was constructed in 2011. There are excellent transport links to London which enables our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. Free car parking facilities are available on site.

Visits to the academy are encouraged. For an informal discussion about the post please contact Julie Joiner, PA to Head of School jjoiner@maltingsacademy.org
