Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a General Chemistry Graduate to join the team here in Liverpool, UK.

The role

This will be a two year graduate development programme, working within our General Chemistry Team at our Main Laboratory in Knowsley, Merseyside. We will equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience in the wide range of analytical services and techniques we operate. You will provide support to our Management Team and support added value business projects. On successful completion of the programme, you will be assigned to a job role within the general chemistry department.

Required knowledge and work experience

Essential

Required competencies

  • Understanding of statistics of analytical chemistry, method validation, quality control.
  • Understanding of any of the following analytical techniques is desirable but not essential – AAS, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, CIC, IR Combustion, Titration, EDXRF, WDXRF, Fire Assay, OES.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, Google suite, and project management applications.

Required work experience

  • Previous internship or initial professional work experience in a laboratory environment is desirable but not essential.

Required qualifications

  • 2:1 degree in any subject.
