Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Data and Reporting Graduate to join our Enabling Functions team to work in Redhill.

Role Purpose

  • Support access to sustainability data to drive performance improvements
  • Assist our sustainability offering (reporting, win business and development)
  • Assist the business by setting up systems to capture sustainability data including social value, waste, carbon and environmental incident data
  • Support the implementation of the Balfour Beatty Building New Future's strategy with a specific focus on reducing energy consumption
  • Undertake further enhancements to the Sustainability Portal
  • Undertake further improvements to Power BI
  • To automate process
  • Prepare training and self-help materials to staff
  • To assist with setting up reports for projects
  • To assist with reviewing data

What you'll be doing

You will have the following accountabilities:

  • Support the development of our Microsoft Power BI dashboard to provide sustainability data to our project managers
  • Map and support the collation of relevant sustainability data by setting up automated APIs
  • Engage with the business and work with suppliers in setting up relevant data flows
  • Work with IT and the central function to ensure IT project deadlines are met
  • Further develop and enhance the sustainability portal for capturing performance data from projects and automate processes
  • Undertake tests of the data
  • Run reports
  • Work with other departments to pull in relevant data sets
  • Support the development of training materials
  • Support the HSES team with any other requests they may have
  • Live the Balfour Beatty Values
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
  • Develop own performance through the Brilliant Basics programme and other such initiatives as required
  • Personal development through the graduate programme

Who we're looking for

You will have the following qualities and experience:

  • Proven track record of managing data and working with Power BI
  • Advanced experience of using excel
  • Proven track record of being able to analyse, interpret, manipulate and validate data
  • Programme management experience with a structured approach to organising and documenting progress

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

  • Experience of computer programming
  • Experience in construction/infrastructure environment
  • Understanding of UK environmental legislation
  • Commercial awareness
  • Understanding/experience of Sustainability and reporting requirements
