This role will look at the fundamentals of occupational hygiene, health, and wellbeing. The role-holder will work with the health team to provide an integrated approach to health across Balfour Beatty. They will support business units/ projects to understand and manage health risks and learn how to deliver positive health outcomes through health risk management and wellbeing interventions across all our projects. Training will be provided on the principles of occupational health, hygiene and wellbeing and allow flexibility to progress into a specialized role across one of the disciplines.

What you'll be doing

  • To support the delivery of the health and wellbeing strategy for the UK.
  • To support delivery of a full and proactive health and wellbeing service throughout the UK business.
  • To support the implementation of occupational health, hygiene, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • To support health promotion activities and contribute to health-related campaigns by assisting in the preparation and dissemination of promotional material.
  • To support wider health initiative groups e.g. Health Champions, Fatal Risks Groups and other health related forums to support the business.
  • To support site visits to ensure projects understand health related matters and are delivering in line with our Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
  • To support the health team to ensure sound hygiene principles are being used effectively within the business.
  • To maintain confidentiality in line with The Data Protection Act.
  • To manage all health-related SharePoint material and page creation.

Undertake accredited training in the disciplines of occupational health management, occupational hygiene, and wellbeing.

Who we're looking for

  • A minimum of a 2:2 in an undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Eligibility to work and live in the UK at the time of joining
  • Passionate about health including both the management of health risks at work and the delivery of positive health-related outcomes
  • Flexibility to travel, ideally holding a full UK drivers licence at the time of joining to support travel requirements
  • A team focus with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with a wide variety of people at all levels
  • Collaborative, reliable, proactive and able to meet deadlines with a keen attention to detail and quality
  • Advanced knowledge of MS office- Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Occupational health, hygiene or wellbeing knowledge an advantage.
