Having previous experience as an established DAA and/or Assistant designer, the Junior Designer will be responsible for supporting the Design Team with increased responsibility, ownership and creative output.

Supported and mentored by a Designer/Senior you will be designing innovative and unique products with the Boden customer in mind. Working alongside the product and design teams, Juniors, see the garments all the way through from initial concept to production.

The Boden values will be reflected in all areas of work as well as an understanding and affinity with the Boden core customer.  

Role responsibilities

The role responsibilities will vary depending on size and structure of your specific team:

  • Design innovative and unique ranges for our customer base
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are important from sketch stage to production
  • Produce detailed technical CAD drawings/artwork packs
  • Maintain critical path dates and ensure deadlines are met
  • Be involved in approvals at all stages from development to production
  • Gain inspiration and innovative design ideas from a variety of sources, including competitors & inspirational brands
  • Always have the Boden values and customer in mind
  • PLM management including uploading of tech packs/artworks, colours, and creating BOMS
  • Weekly CP management for approvals
  • Be organised and have good time management skills
  • A very good sense of colour, print and design
  • A keen eye for trends and design innovation
  • Attending fits with initial support
  • Presenting with the support of your manager
  • Awareness of trade and reacting to this where required

The experience we are looking for

  • Good knowledge of competitor & aspirational brands
  • Keen interest for colour/print
  • Excellent CAD skills including Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
  • PLM experience preferable
  • BAhons Fashion Design/Print/Illustration/Textiles Degree
  • Sufficient DAA or Design Assistant experience with examples of design work
