The role:

C. Hoare & Co. is looking to hire bright new talent to join them on their 24 month rotational graduate programme.

  • Full-time, permanent contract
  • 24 month rotation scheme
  • 2 year target roles:
    • Customer Relations Team Lead, Assistant Relationship Manager, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Product Manager, Operational Risk Analyst
  • 5 year target roles:
    • Team Lead (Relationship Manager), Digital Manager, Product Owner, AI Platform Manager

Objectives:

  • To provide wide-ranging assistance across four business departments and gain a thorough understanding of the bank’s front and back office areas whilst completing relevant rotations.

Rotation:

Over a period of 24 months (6 months in each area), you will rotate through four areas of the business; within each one you will be allocated a line manager and specific projects to work on. You will have ownership and deliverables and will be supported throughout your learning experience with clear objectives and skills to develop.

The overall aim of the rotations is to ensure you have the breadth of knowledge to help you succeed within the bank, understand how the bank works and the critical importance of each business area in order to develop future technical or people leaders at CHC.

*The role is subject to the Conduct Rules set by the FCA/PRA.  You are required to familiarise yourself with, and comply with, the Conduct Rules and their successors and complete such ongoing training and competence requirements as required by the FCA/PRA and the bank from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • 5 GCSE’s grade A-C (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualification
  • 2 A Levels grade A-C or equivalent qualification
  • 2:1 University Degree

Background and experience necessary:

  • Strong people & communication skills
  • Well rounded interests
  • Evidence of previous experience of holding positions of responsibility, financial work placements and interest in philanthropy
  • Intermediate level at Microsoft office systems: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc is essential
  • Keen interest in private banking and business

Personal skills:

  • Ability to work in a close team, with an appreciation of the values and ethos of the bank
  • Highly articulate, excellent presentation
  • The ability to work effectively and demonstrate initiative

Principal duties and responsibilities:

  • Gain an understanding in each rotation area of the business and assist with day to day duties
  • Undertake one or more specific projects within the departments as set by the Head of Department and provide close involvement/assistance with presentations
  • Assist in keeping project tasks up to date
  • Attend meetings and maintain detailed minutes and actions
  • Gain experience from senior leadership and team discussions
  • Achieve a good understanding of the department’s procedures, controls and governance
  • Prepare a project presentation for the leadership team
  • Be committed to undertake extra-curricular related professional qualifications / study / reading
