Give yourself the edge over the competition and get a taste for life in one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. With our Global Research Industrial Placement, you can spend 13 months in the UK learning how research affects our global operations and our diverse customer base.

What you can expect

On our paid 13-month industrial placement, you will learn how investment research is used to help our corporate and institutional customers. The research we do in Global Banking & Markets is important because of the confidence it gives our customers in our advice and services. You can expect to gain a better understanding of how we build client relationships using research to back up everything we do for customers. You will be a key member of the team with specific responsibilities, and will work alongside experienced professionals who are keen to share knowledge and help you develop. This 13-month placement will arm you with a practical knowledge of markets and investing, as well as teaching you how to present data, and communicate effectively with clients. These skills will become invaluable as you develop in the industry.

What you will do

No matter what degree you’re doing, you’ll become part of the team. You’ll realise the importance of keeping on top of market news, economic data releases and day-to-day news flows, and learn about macroeconomic, sector and company-specific research, and how these affect the services we offer our clients. We will also help you understand our trade strategies, business targets and analytical methods by working with research analysts and economists, and expand your professional network through meetings with international teams in the US and the Asia-Pacific region.
