The role

The Moody’s Summer Associate internship program is a 10-week program that provides an outstanding opportunity to develop skills that are valuable to any future career in the financial services industry. This will be an internally facing role, reporting to a Team Manager.

Key responsibilities

Examples of analytical work may include:

  • Engaging in research projects identified by the team manager, which entail comprehensive data analysis, analytics, and modelling. The goal is to contribute to the development of a crucial component for an ongoing solution, to enhance our insurance risk solutions in emerging risk areas.
  • Actively supporting our strategy to advance emerging risk solutions. This involves exploring commercial opportunities for growth and addressing key customer issues.
  • Demonstrating the ability to work autonomously and under supervision throughout various phases of data analysis and solution development.
  • Utilizing programming, data analysis, and data science methodologies to implement and deliver effective solutions that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Generating comprehensive documentation and presentations to facilitate discussions within the team, ensuring clear communication of the proposed solutions and their potential impact.

Experience and qualifications

  • Students studying towards a Master’s Degree or PhD, in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Financial Engineering, Data Science or related fields
  • Graduation date of December 2024 – June 2025
  • Experience in data analysis, working with large data sets, creative thinking – data science techniques would be a plus
  • Proficient in one of the programing languages such as MatLab, R, Python, C++,C# or others
  • Proficiency in using SQL (optional)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle workflow, to adapt to a changing environment, and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail
