Team overview

As the center for innovative modeling in economics and credit risk, the Predictive Analytics unit empowers Moody’s Analytics’ customers to gain insight from data, model challenging problems, and make faster, better decisions. Our customers include banks, insurance companies and asset managers, corporates, as well as governments, regulators, and supervisory authorities globally.

The Research Insights team, in particular, is committed to provide solutions and insights that align with customer aspirations and needs through advanced analytics and thought leadership. We create an exceptional customer experience by leveraging our unique expertise and developing various tools. Our scope also covers research to support Sales team, customer success activities and business development.

The candidate will have the chance to participate in providing research insights by developing applied research and content as well as support development of analytical tools. This would allow them to engage in multiple tasks including work with our platforms to create relatable use cases, business studies and papers which would reveal benefits and features of PA solutions.

Overview of role/responsibilities for the intern

The intern will be involved into development of tools and doing research oriented towards client retention activities and improving already existing solutions. The main responsibilities covers data analysis, methodology design and technical communications to internal audiences, results derivation, analysis and interpretation. The successful candidate will perform:

  • Data analysis
  • Application of statistical and econometric techniques to create research insights
  • Documentation/research writing
  • Preparing materials for presentations
  • Dashboard enhancements

Qualifications

Please keep in mind these are intern candidates, identify “must-have’s vs. nice to have’s.

  • A MS/MA degree (preferred) or final-year BS (essential) degree student in Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Mathematics, Finance, or other relevant field.
  • Programming skills in R (or Python) are essential. Advanced level is preferred.
  • Knowledge of econometric models with strong willingness to learn AI methods
  • Responsible person who can work well with others
  • Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Experience with technical writing or instructional design highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the risk management is preferred
