What do you do at Arcadis?
I'm a graduate Management Consultant within the Business Transformation team.
Why do you love working at Arcadis?
The people – they are a friendly and inspired group of people to work with. We also have several internal communities such as the Junior Consulting Academy which makes it a great place to work. There is also a focus on wellbeing first and DEI&B (Diversity Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) and other topical issues.
Can you describe a ‘typical day’ in your role?
My typical day is largely filled with both project/client/external and internal meetings. Outside of meetings I spend around 80% of my time focused on project delivery and 20% of my time focused on internal commitments. These internal commitments are focused on growing our capabilities to maximize our service delivery, as well as building our community and culture in a way that caters for a diverse set of colleagues.
What has been your favourite project up to now?
Working with a client in the banking sector - coming onto the project as Junior Consultant with major responsibilities whilst protected and supported by an experienced and driven cohort from across the business provided me with great learning opportunities, the opportunity to build and manage client relationships whilst making a real impact. I was able to develop an understanding of how we operate in the financial sector, a strong network and a massive boost in my confidence as a management consultant.
What tips would you give to someone who is applying to Arcadis?
Understand what your priorities are and see if they align with Arcadis' behaviours and values. If they do, connect with people in the business wherever you can to understand their perspective and get an idea both of where you can add and derive value from joining one of our teams.
