Graduate Spotlight: Annabel, Planning and Logistics Graduate

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

We caught up with Annabel, a current graduate on rotation in the Planning and Logistics team. Here she shared her insights on the culture at Diageo, the opportunities that have been made available and what the most exciting part of the role has been so far.

What opportunities has Diageo provided you?

Although I have only been at Diageo for 7 months I have already been given great responsibilities and ownership within my role as a market planner. Working daily with people from all over the world while having a great level of support within my team is brilliant. It’s such a positive environment where you are really encouraged to thrive.

What’s the most exciting thing about your role?

Having the ownership to be part of the planning team for entire markets is great. You are working with all functions, daily, so I feel I am at the beating heart of the company. You are part of every single case that is delivered to your markets! I don’t think you get that exposure in all large corporations! I also love being able to take time out of my day job to get involved in  initiatives such as Spirited Women, a group within the business that supports women in the workplace.

How would you describe Diageo’s culture?

To me Diageo’s culture is open and supports development of every single person. The talent of each individual is celebrated and focuses on progress for not just the company but also the world we live in.

What has Diageo taught you about yourself?

Diageo has already taught me so much since I joined. I think the most important lesson has been that I am capable of anything I put my mind to. An interesting learning is that although I am one of thousands of employees, my contribution to the company is valuable, I have a direct influence over our performance and progress. The markets we operate in are very fast paced so it has been great to see myself excel in high pressure situations – I never had the confidence in my abilities but here at Diageo I see no limits to my development potential! I can’t wait to see what is round the corner.
