Our goals
The UCL First-Gen Society was established in 2018 with the following aims and objectives:
To provide an inclusive and supportive environment for UCL students of the first generation in their family to attend higher education.
To support disadvantaged students more broadly and prospective UCL students through widening participation and outreach work.
We aim to do this through regular pastoral and professional events as well working with UCL’s Widening Participation team. In our short existence, we have organised a number of social events as well as successful workshops and networking events to support our members’ careers ambitions.
The society is thrilled to be partnering with Bright Network thanks to which we will be able to provide our members with even better support and resources.
