Since joining Pernod Ricard UK as their HR intern, I have been exposed to multiple areas such as talent management, rewards and benefits, and employment law. Within this array of topics, I have been given a range of responsibilities from operational level tasks to larger projects, making me feel a valued part of the team from day one. During which, I have discovered the importance of aligning my actions and decisions with our wider business strategies, such as recognising the power of new data and technology within recruitment.
I have also been presented with opportunities to interact across departments, where I have gained an understanding of factors that contribute to employee satisfaction and the ways in which the company strive for maximum employee empowerment and engagement. Pernod’s welcoming and supportive work culture is visible throughout and is truly reflected through its Sunday Times ‘Best Company to work for’ award in 2017.
