Lucy French: A Day in the Life

Book open Reading time: 2 mins

Lucy is currently working as an ACE Apprentice in Marketing at Fieldfisher's London office.

9:30am

When I get to the office I start by checking my emails and seeing what meetings I have planned that day.

10:30am

My morning normally consists of receiving content for the firms social media platforms and I put them into the schedule. This process has a few steps which starts from receiving approved content, creating the graphics and then working out a plan for them to be sent out.

11:00am

On Monday I have a meeting with my supervisor, this consists of talking about how my week is looking and how my degree is going. My supervisor is the Internal Communications manager so we tend to look at what needs to be done and what is coming up for that week for internal communications.

12:00pm

I schedule content into the internal communications calendar which I know is coming up that week and make sure I know whether or not to add it into the internal firm-wide newsletter that I create every Friday.

1:45pm

After lunch, I post a post on the Fieldfisher LinkedIn for one of the Partners. Then I tend to post stories on the Intranet of different things that are happening with the firm.

3:30pm

I then have a team meeting with the PR and External communications team where we discuss how are weeks look and out targets for the upcoming weeks. This is a good way to see what everyone is working on and understand how all the work we do connects.

4:30pm

I start with my social media analytics for the month. This consists of creating a power point which I send out to the marketing and business development teams. So they can see what posts have been doing well in engagement and impressions.

5:30pm

Before I log off I tend to check what I have done in the day and create a to-do list for the next day. This helps me make better use of my time.
